Front silver cover with an engraved cross, Hallmarked above the cross. Plain silver rear cover with hallmarks: Maker's mark: J R. Birmingham, 1904 . Plain spine, carefully strengthened. Inner gilt dentelles.
The book is small, measuring 6cm x 10cm, 2cm thick.
Please check all photographs for a good understanding of the condition.
Pre owned with some signs of age/use. The silver and leather covers are in good condition. The silver panels have light surface scratches, blemishes, and the hallmarks are a little rubbed. Spine appears strengthened as a little darker than the rest. Silver panels holding well to the leather boards. Inside covers/end pages a little worn/discoloured. Gilt pattern around the outer edge. Inner hinges cracked but holding well.
Text block in good condition, no highlighting or notes. Pages are yellowed with age, some slight foxing dotted about, along with a few corner folds/creasing typical with thin paper.
Gilded page edges dulled with age, a few light scratches from handling. One ribbon page marker present however well worn. No previous owner ink inscriptions or notes.
Overall remains in good reading condition, a uncommon binding with both front and rear hallmarked silver panels, with as described signs of age, use and wear.
