The boards are holding well, firm with no exterior or interior cracking of the hinges. Some surface wear to the leather, spine has visible creasing, gilt title remains bright.
Black end papers and paste downs are discoloured and worn in parts. Text block in generally good reading condition. Mild Yellow toning of the pages, overall text block is holding strong with no loose/missing pages. Some small corner folds and creasing of the delicate thin paper, some foxing/brown spots dotted throughout. Page edges are gilded, some significant dulling, and scratches noticeable. One purple ribbon page marker present, slightly discoloured, worn at its end. No inscriptions, highlighting or notes.
The box remains perfectly functional, however the cover has significant wear of the felt around the outside edge of brass plaque. General wear across all sides, hinge works, silk lining is discoloured, marked, and fraying in a couple of places. The book fits nicely inside, with a little bit of space surrounding.
Overall the book remains in good reading condition, an attractive and scarce collectible edition, with as described signs of age, use and wear.
