Beautiful Antique Edition,
POEMS OF PLEASURE,
By Ella Wheeler Wilcox.
With Frontispiece by Frank C Pape, tissue guarded.
Reproduced from a manuscript inscribed and illuminated by A. Sangorski and G. Sutcliffe and published by Siegle Hill & Co, London. Printed by W. W. Curtis Ltd., at the Cheylesmore Press, Coventry.
There is no publication print year, however the original owner has a dated inscription of 1919.
The book measures 14.5cm x 19.5cm.
There are signs of age, use and wear. The Green moire boards show discolouration/staining and wear, the back in particular. Gilt embossed titles and art nouveau design remains bright on the front cover, although significantly sunned/faded on the spine. The corners and edges are shelf worn, as are the edges of the spine.
The top edge is gilt, although dulled, others untrimmed.
Beautifully illuminated and decorated throughout on thick paper, possibly hand made. Scattered foxing throughout, but text and decoration clear and legible.
Binding remains firm, contents complete, although some signatures are jutting out slightly. Ink Inscription on the first end paper, with insert note inscription.
Please check all photos for the best understanding of condition, more photos available upon request. Please do expect signs of age, use and wear. We are proud members of the International Online Booksellers Association.
