There are some signs of age, use and wear. The unusual soft green leather cover is in reasonable condition for its age and style. There is discolouration of the spine, black embossed title to the spine, the central embossed black portrait on the front cover has some surface wear. The leather cover has slightly overlapping edges, this has flattened and crumpled some what along the bottom edge. General overall surface wear noticeable.
There is some occasional age/use related page discolouration dotted throughout, mainly yellowing/foxing from age. All text is clearly legible. Overall contents binding appears strong and complete. All illustrations accounted for. The text block edges at the top are gold gilded, other two sides are rough cut.
There is are no previous owner inscriptions.
Overall the book remains in good reading condition, with as described typical signs of age, use and wear. An unusual and unique edition, containing some excellent illustrations.
